7 Girl Scout dates & deadlines

Rockford leaders,

7 things and lots of deadlines! The drop boxes are in place at all three schools (Lakes, Belmont, North Middle) for your use.

1. The Your Own Business IPP is next Tuesday, September 30. We have extended the deadline to register to this Friday, September 26. (I confess I forgot to register my own daughter! Oops.)
2. Leader/Daughter event in Grand Haven on October 4. That deadline to register is also this Friday, September 26.
3. Next Tuesday, September 30 is when you need to get your troops and or girls reregistered. Yes, new girls can sign up later. And of course we'll never turn a girl away. But current year membership expires on September 30 and the new year starts October 1. Get those forms in! ALSO, turn in the brown form with your registrations to get the free new Girl Scout Michigan Shore to Shore rocker for all your girls!
4. If you participated in Summer Trails through the council, that deadline to turn in your paperwork to council is Tuesday, September 30.
5. Speaking of council. While the council offices will be open next week, the council store will be closed Monday, September 29 & Tuesday, September 30. Keep that in mind while doing your own shopping.
6. October 10 – 12 is a Power Weekend at Camp Anna Behrens. This is a great chance to get away from the kids, enjoy a weekend at Camp, AND power your way through a bunch of training. Workshops include: Leadership essentials, Girl Scout Traditions, Outdoor training, Ceremonies, SWAPS, Songs & Games, Troop Management, First Aid/CPR (very limited space), and First Aid/CPR recertification. Cost is $15 for whole weekend or $5 per meal if you can't come for the whole weekend. See the website calendar for more specifics and a registration form. Register by October 3.
7. Join the GSMISTS CEO, Karen Micklatcher, for an information meeting and "Let's Chart Our Course." This is for all registered Girl Scouts ages 14 through Adult. There is no cost. Thursday, October 2 at Faith United Methodist Church (across from Council on Walker Road) or Tuesday, October 21 at Camp Anna Behrens. Actually, there are about a dozen locations. If anyone wants to travel to Manistee or Alpena for example, contact me for the date.
