Girl Scout Achievement Award

AWARD: $1,000 Scholarship

Applicant Requirements:

a.. Must have earned the Girl Scout Gold award and have at least Junior standing in High School.
b.. Must be actively involved in a religious institution and must have received the appropriate religious emblem at the Cadette or Senior Scout level.
c.. Must have demonstrated practical citizenship in the religious institution, school, Girl Scouting, and community.
d.. Must submit at least one letter of recommendation with application from an individual representing one of the following: your church, school, community, or Girl Scout troop.
e.. Submit a 500 word essay describing your Gold Award project. Explain why you chose the project you did and how it made an impact on you and your community.
Selection Process:
This application and your essay must be presented to your local American Legion Auxiliary Unit President ON OR BEFORE FEBRUARY 10, 2009.

Applications and essays will be judged by a screening committee composed of Girl Scout leaders and educators. The successful applicant will be notified on or before June 15, 2009.
