The incentives will be ready for pick-up on Monday, May 4, 2009 at the parking lot of the Cannon Township Offices from 6:30-7:30 or they will be at the leader meeting on Monday, May 11, 2009 at Rockford Methodist Church, 159 Maple St., Rockford, Michigan  at 6:30.  If neither of these times work for you, call me at 616-901-5639 and we can arrange a time when you can come to my house and pick them up.

[leaders] News from Council

Below is an e-mail we just received from counsel.  Please drop off a copy of your cookie deposit slips in the box in front of Jill Fitzhugh's house at 6821 Homestead by May 13.

 

Hello,

We are finishing up cookie delivery this week and beginning cookie booths.  Cookie Booths are a great way for your troop to earn some extra money after the initial orders are delivered.

 

This is also a reminder that troops have the opportunity to earn an additional $.02 on each box sold on their initial order with our Early payment incentive.

 

Just deposit the amount due for initial cookie orders into a council product sale bank account by April 30, 2009.  You must put your troop number on the deposit slip and submit the deposit slip and receipt to the Service Unit Product manager to receive your rebate check from council. Do not keep the additional $.02 out of the deposit.

 

Please keep in mind the Regular due dates for all money to be turned in:

 

MAY 11: Money due to troop.

 

MAY 13:  Deposit tickets due to Service Unit.

 

MAY 18:  Deposit tickets due to Service Center.

• Troop number on all deposit tickets and bank receipts
• Report of past due monies turned in if applicable.

 

Please pass this information along to all Troop Product Sale Managers and Troop Leaders.

 

Thank-you for all the time you have given for the girls this cookie season.

Please remember to call your council product sales manager with any questions you have.

 

 

[leaders] Girl Scout Reminders

Leaders,

 

Just a few reminders today:

 

1.  Please register for the Leader Banquet.  Use a neighborhood event registration form – cost is $10 plus a dessert to share.  Registrations are due by Monday May 4…the Leader Banquet is Monday, May 11 at 6:30 pm at RUMC.

 

2.  If you have receipts for which you need reimbursement, please submit those asap to Cindy Wadlow.  We are trying to make sure that everything is up to date to that we can quickly process the end-of-the-year receipts.

 

3.  Cookies:  if you make a deposit of any cookie money by April 30, your troop will receive a 2 cent per box rebate from Council.  This rebate will be mailed to you after the sale is over.  You do not have to deposit all of your cookie money by that date.  This is an optional activity so if you are not able to make a deposit by April 30, that is not a problem.  Please contact Beverly or Beth is you have questions.

 

4.  Annual Meeting:  If you are a delegate to the annual meeting, please be sure to register for the event which is this Saturday, May 2 at Ferris State University.  Please call Kim Dyer at Council to register.

 

5.  Coming up:  Look for more information about Early Bird registration.  Beverly and I have received information about Early Bird, and will get it to you soon.

 

6.  Finally, we have removed the drop boxes from Lakes and Belmont.  Please use the drop box at NRMS if you need to get any information to Beverly, Tina, Cindy or Beth.

[leaders] Clarification on Early Deposit incentive

 

Early deposit for cookie money is due April 30^th.  You can make a partial deposit and get an extra 2 cents per box.  Full amount of $2.95 must be paid and you will receive a rebate of the 2 cents per box.

[leaders] Girl Scouts - Time for forms

Leaders,

 

It’s time to complete some end of the year forms.

 

Remember, each troop must complete reports at the end of the program year. 

 

As of today, we have the Detailed Cash Report and Annual Troop Report (financial) on our website’s homepage.  Later this week, we will have added a Service Unit Troop report that we would also like completed. 

 

We will also need to know if your troop is disbanding.  There is a special Disbanding Troops Form on the website as well.  Please be sure to keep a copy of the reports for yourself!!!

 

These reports must be completed and returned to either Beverly or Beth by May 20, 2009.  You MAY put them in the drop box at North Rockford Middle School.

[leaders] GS & Kindergarten Roundup

Leaders,

I've been working with Rockford Public Schools to allow us to be at Kindergarten Round-up. Every fall, parents tell us "I wish I had known last spring that Girl Scouts starts with Kindergarten." We've tried in the past and been shot down. We finally got permission.

That is the good news.

The bad news is that Kindergarten Roundup starts tomorrow! (Nothing like waiting for the last minute, eh!)

The schedule is below. As you can see, there are four schools with Kindergarten Round-up tomorrow and I can't be in four places!

So please, please consider signing up for a shift. Email me or sign up at tonight's meeting. All this involves is sitting at a table. No speaking in public. No crafts. If you are (or have been) a Daisy leader or are a school rep, we NEED you!

Also, if you have Daisy anything (books, uniforms, pictures, poster, etc) bring it to the meeting tonight so that we can have a eye-catching table.

Did you have a nice Spring Break? I did and completely blew off the newsletter. You can all call me a bad Service Unit Director if you come to the April Leader meeting. (I will have one by Monday.)

Yes, the April leader meeting will be on Monday, April 13. This Monday. The one right after Spring Break! Please come. Put it on your calendar, call your co-leader, call another leader you know that doesn't always check her email, and be there!
