This blog has been set up for Girl Scout and their families in the Rockford, Michigan.
Dear Girl Scout Leader,
Within the next couple of days you will be contacted by Mark Petz, GSMISTS Vice President of Development and Communications, regarding an online survey from Survey Monkey that is very important to the Girl Scouts here in Kent County.
We need the input you will provide through this survey to help with the funding proposal we are submitting to Heart of West Michigan United Way. I would appreciate it very much if you would all take it as soon as you are able. I know that this is a very busy time for everyone so we have made it simply 10 questions that you will respond with yes or no.
Thanks for your help and for all that you do for the Girl Scouts in Rockford Service Unit #322.

Message from the Director:As you can probably tell, I am struggling to meet my Girl Scout responsibilities. It is not that I don't care. I really do care. It is just that I am, like so many of you, overwhelmed with work and other factors. I confess I've had a few days where I just came home from work and couldn't face a computer again. If you've emailed me and I haven't replied in 24 hours, please try again or call me on my cell phone!
This is my last year as director, and I think it is a good thing. As I said, I'm burned out and our Service Unit needs some new faces and fresh enthusiasm. I would ask each of you to carefully, and prayerfully, consider whether you might be able to step up and take a new role next year. There are many roles and many ways that people can contribute.
It is an incredibly rewarding position and I have enjoyed the past three years. I have met many wonderful people and made new friends. I have learned new abilities which have helped me in both my personal life and my job. I have watched
If you have thought that you might be interested, please contact me. For example, we will need a new treasurer next year. If you know now that you would be willing to be the treasurer, you could meet with Beth now and learn the ropes. If you have any interest in director, I would be happy to sit down with you and talk about what all is involved, how you can split up the work, advice on who would be a good team, and all that good stuff.
So please, give it some thought, be open to new ideas, and take a bold step next year.
