Hello Leaders,

Do anyone have a extra case or cases of thin mints or somaos that you would be willing to trade for either tag a longs or do-si-dos. I have several extra cases that  our troop needs to get rid of, but not many people are willing to buy our slim selection of just peanut butter kinds, we need to mix it up, in order to sell them!!!

[leaders] new camp forms?

Hello Everyone,

 

I apologize for the confusion.  Many people have emailed me about another form for camp.  Yes there are TWO forms to fill out.  Form 1 (which has now been added- Thanks Jane) is where you list the girls and parents that are attending camp.  Form 2 is the form that you pick your activities and your troop chore during camp.  Form 1 should be at the end of the pdf.  on the website.  Thanks for bringing it to my attention.  I didn't notice it wasn't there.

Hi everyone!

[leaders] camp forms

Hello Everyone,

 

Just a friendly reminder that your camp forms and money are due to Beth Reedy by April 1st.  I noticed as I was filling ours out that there is an error.  On the cover page that describes the options at camp, under Juniors it reads: Zip Line, High Ropes Course and Vertical Playpen.  When you fill out the registraion form it has "Climbing Tower" in place of High Ropes Course.  If your scouts choose that activity, just cross off Climbing Tower and write in High Ropes Course. 

 

Sorry for the confusion.  Please email me any questions you may have.  I look forward to seeing you all at camp!

[leaders] Making It Matter - Junior Badge Event

The Society of Women Engineers is offering the badge "Making it Matter"
on Wednesday, March 24th at NRMS. Cost of event is $3.50 and badge is
included. Juniors will learn about and make asphalt (edible with
chocolate), Kaleidoscopes made with mirrors and PVC pipe, play with
optical illusions and learn about friction with two fun activities.
They will also get a chance to learn more about engineering careers.
Registration required by Monday and we have room for 60 girls. We have
offered this badge over the past 4 years and are offering it local again
here in our own Service Unit.

I am also looking for a few Cadettes and Seniors to help out with these
activities. If interested please email me at the address below.

[leaders] GS Leader Daughter event - March 21

Girl Scout Leaders,

I would like to personally invite you and your daughter to Leader/Daughter Day with Cirque AmongUs.

There will be many different stations with fundamentals of circus arts: juggling, movement and balancing. Try something new with your daughter and do something you never thought possible.

Once a year, we try to offer a time for you to enjoy an event with your daughter, and without the rest of the troop. I've been a leader for 9 years, and I know how it is for our daughters.
She wants you to be the leader, but often it seems you spend less time with her.
Short of something at the meeting (snack, craft supply, patch) and you know which girl gets it last – your daughter.

Now come to this event and spend some one-on-one time. If you have more than one daughter, bring them all.

Who: Girl Scout Leaders and their daughters (all daughters, not just the one in your troop)

Cost: Between $6 and $10 per person. The more people that sign up, the cheaper it will be per person. Please encourage your co-leaders and other leaders to sign up. Talk to me if you have one of those "special" parents that you would like to have come. Cost includes patch for girls.

Date: Sunday, March 21 from 2—4 pm

Location: North Kent Presbyterian Church, 6175 Kuttshill Dr, Rockford.

Register by calling or emailing Beverly Dickinson. Email preferred at beverlyd@charter.net. Or call at 304-2615. Sign up by Friday, March 19.
