[leaders] Rockford Girl Scout Christmas tree 2010

Dear Rockford Girl Scouts & Leaders:
Please help us make the Rockford Unit's tree look spectacular by contributing creative homemade ornaments (SWAP-sized ornaments) that will be displayed on our Rockford Unit's Christmas tree at the Gerald R. Ford Museum this holiday season.

Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum
2010 Christmas on the Grand
"Rockford Unit Girl Scout Christmas Tree"
Our tree's theme: Silver and Gold  (like Make new friends, but keep the old...)

Our theme is "Silver and Gold" and friendship, so time to get creative! Last year our tree won the Kreative Kids Award, so we have set ourselves a high standard ;-). The museum is reimbursing our group up to $250 for our tree, so if you would like to be reimbursed for your ornaments, please give me your receipts.

We will be decorating the tree the weekend of November 13, and I will be accepting ornaments through Friday, November 12. You will get your ornaments back when we take the tree down in January.

The trees will be available for viewing at the museum from November 14-January 6 at no charge. (they're located in the museum lobby)

If your troop would like to contribute, please let me know so that I can plan accordingly.

Thanks so much!

[leaders] Recruitment of new girls and leaders

Leaders,

I would like to introduce you to our new Recruitment Manager - Veronica Antel.  Veronica is a new Daisy leader at Roguewood.  She is super enthusiastic and is already getting her troop rolling and is busy recruiting new leaders.

If any of you know of girls who might be interested, OR parents who might be interested in being a leader, please forward that information to Veronica.

Also please let Veronica know if you can take more girls or if your troop is full.

Veronica may be calling you with names of girls/parents who are interested.  Please work with her and let her know if the girls get placed.

Also, we are trying to think of some new ways to recruit more leaders.  If you have good ideas for ways to contact parents/convince parents, let Veronica or Kathleen or me know.

Thanks again for all that you do for Girl Scouts!
