Reading Rocks in Rockford

Date: Aug. 13, 2011

Time: 10 am to 3 pm

Place: Downtown Rockford

The Rockford Rotary and Rockford schools is sponsoring this event in Rockford again and would like help from us. They are looking for girls to assist authors in setting up their booths, delivering lunches and snacks to the authors and more. Girls must be 9 years or older to help with these jobs. They are also looking for girls 5’2” and taller to wear costumes in the parade and throughout the event. All girls are invited to walk in the parade at 10 am.

Aides for Day Camp

Girls would like to volunteer for Rockford Girls Day camp, please go to http://rockfordgs.com/webforms/day_camp.php and complete the form. If you have not attended Program Aide training, the training will be offered at camp. Please see the next item.

 

Program Aide Training

Date: July 11 and 12, 2011

Time: 9 am to 1pm (includes lunch)

Place: Camp Rockford

Any girl that is currently in the 6^th grade, may attend this training. The training is required to help at Day Camp and work with younger Girl Scouts. If you have not attended Program Aide Training, you MUST attend this session to volunteer. To register, go to http://rockfordgs.com/forms/council/Council%20Event%20Registration%20Form%202010-2011.pdf. Print and complete the form. Send the form to Jane Fabiano-Turner, 8191 Northland Dr NE, Rockford, MI 49341. Cost: $20. DO NOT SEND the form to council.

 

The prior two items will be sent to Girls who volunteered last year.

[leaders] Girl Scouts Service Unit Campout

We still have room available.  If you have not registered please get forms into Kristi.  Please make sure you fill out both forms of the excel spreadsheet - there are two tabs.  One tells us which activities your troop is interesting in doing.

 

We have now opened it up for Daisy troops to stay the night.  Fees would be that of the other overnight campers.

 

Also if you are a Daisy troop and want to stay with just the day option please email me or call so we can discuss.  We are open to the girls staying the whole day, I just need to know.  Dinner is $5.00 per person - adult or child it is $5.00 each.

 

Please get registrations into Kristi by Friday, April 15th.   This weekend I need sort through it and get finalized with the camp.

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is our April Meeting. We will begin at 7pm and I will be there at 630 for any Q&A.

[leaders] Service Unit Campout - still room

We have space available.  If you would like to sign up for camp yet please do so prior to April 15^th.  I know with spring break it may have been difficult to talk to your troops and get your girls registered.  We are also opening it up to Daisy’s staying the night.  Please resend in your registration form to Kristi if you are changing from the day to overnight program.  If you want to stay with the day program please let us know as well.  I want to make sure everyone is aware of the changes.
