[leaders] Memorial Day Parade - come join me

Leaders,

So I was at a friend's son's Eagle Award Ceremony and was sitting at a table afterwards.  This nice gentleman started a conversation about Scouting and Girl Scouts came up, etc.  He then stated that he was the one coordinating the Memorial Day parade and how disappointed they were that there were no Girl Scouts.  Jessica said she thought we should do it.  (Where was this attitude in previous years?)  And he was so excited...

Guess who's coordinating the Memorial Day Parade?  Me!

Please join us if you will be around on Monday.  Got an older kid in Band?  I know you're in town.  I would love to have girls of all ages.  It is a perfect way to give back to our community.

You do NOT need to  RSVP.  Just show up.
Girls should be in uniform.
We are invited to the Open house at the American legion afterwards for food if you want.

[leaders] RE: 2011 Cookie Incentives

Hi,

I’m here at the Rockford United Methodist Church (where the monthly GS meeting are) and I have 20 troops yet to pick up their Cookie Incentives.

Today is the last day to get them here (until 12:30), then they will be at my house, you’ll have to arrange when you can meet me at my home.  I just can’t leave 20 boxes out on the porch.

Some of you are waiting for incentives that didn’t arrive, those will be mailed to your cookie mom’s home.   I can’t turn in that order until all orders are picked up.

If you haven’t gotten  your cookie dough, you should have it in the mail by Friday.  It has been mailed to the cookie mom listed on your ebudde record.

Thank you for your patience in this process.

Susan

[leaders] Blythfield Flag Placement-concern AND memorial day parade

Hello Leaders,
I have gone through my emails and for some reason I am unable to locate the replies from the  leaders regarding the flag placement. I believe that there were about 5 troops. Can you reply if you're planning on attending this event--please?

Also, there were inquires about Memorial day. If I could have a final answer I would appreciate that as well.
Thanks again
Kathleen (jennifer C-I have your information)

Hi Kathleen, I've attached a document showing the tentative order of the parade and the route. I hope I'm not too late for your meeting. The following is an approximate timeline: 8:00AM Arrive at Community Cabin and begin formation 8:45AM Opening ceremony 9:00AM Parade Begins 9:10AM Parade halts at the Corner of Main St. and Courtland for Welcome Address. 9:30AM Resume the parade 9:45AM Arrive at the Rockford Cemetery 10:00AM National Anthem begins Memorial Ceremony 10:30 Ceremony Concludes After the ceremony everyone is invited to our Post (330 Rockford Park Dr. off Northland Dr, north of Ace Hardware) to enjoy brunch and fellowship. At 10:50AM a wreath laying ceremony will be held at the Post. Members of the Legion Honor Guard will then proceed to three more area cemeteries to perform memorial services before retiring for the day. You are on your own when the ceremony at the Rockford cemetery ends at 10:30, however we would love to have you join us at the Post for refreshments. I will be traveling with the Honor Guard as we proceed to the other ceremonies so I will be somewhat busy. Sincerely, Clyde A. [leaders] Memorial Day Parade

Hello Leaders,
I just want to be sure if there is any interest in girls participating in the Memorial Day parade in Rockford.  The parade is relatively short with representatives from the service-veterans and scouts.  I would be more than happy to lead any girls interested and this does not have to be a "Troop thing". I would need to have enough adults to ensure safety rules....  I am just re-asking as I felt awful sending a note to the commander that there were no Girl Scouts interested in the parade.

Please let me know if there is interest, Kathleen
ps-we typically do not provide candy for this parade...Girls just need to be in their pin/sash/vest

[leaders] 2011 Cookie Incentives

Hi everyone,
I am being told that the incentives are going to be delivered to me BEFORE the end of the school year, I will email you all as soon as I receive them as to pick-up days & times.  Also, there were not level patches this year for how many boxes were sold for those of you who were asking.  I also want to re-assure those of you that have emailed me with concerns regarding your troops incentives that your girls will all get the incentives they earned.

Thanks!

[leaders] May 9, 2011 Leader Meeting - Celebration

Please join us at 6:30 at Rockford United Methodist Church for our last meeting.

We will have pizza, salad and juice.  We will be mentoring folks to help finish our end of the year paperwork.  It would be wise for everyone to somewhat prepare for this by gathering your most recent bank statements and detailed cash flow. You will be better prepared to complete your financial sheet.  If you are not a new troop leader this year, I would suggest that you bring last years paperwork. It will be so much easier for you to complete this years.
Please send me an email at Mskbellure@aol.com so that I will know the number in attendance for the meeting. Remember, dinner will be provided and served by the leadership team as a thank you for all of your had work.
