Cadette Leader/Advisors,

Do you have Girl Scouts currently in 6-8^th grade who would like a new challenge…something different to try in GS? Perhaps having fun with other middle school girls while learning new skills – even leadership skills - so they feel comfortable speaking in front of a group, learn how to plan activities and more? Or maybe your girls are into earning awards. We have a 'Cadette Leadership Course' coming up Saturday, June 2, at the Grand Rapids Service Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This class is the second step for girls who are working on their Program Aide Award (see page 30 in the new Cadette Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting). Cadette girls who might like to earn this award or who may have already earned their LiA (Leader in Action) by working with Brownies on their Journey are invited to come to this course!

The fee is $20 and includes their own Cadette Program Aide notebook, all activities plus a two hour specialty (girls will decide from Team Building, Songs & Games, or Outdoor Skills), and once they've completed the three steps to earn the Program Aide Award pin, they will turn in their completed checklist/record form to receive their new Cadette Program Aide pin at no additional fee. All this PLUS lunch, beverages and morning and afternoon snacks are included! This course is also a pre-requisite for girls who will be serving as Day Camp Aides. Cookie Dough will be mailed out soon so if girls are waiting for that, they will need to complete a paper registration (found in the back of the GPS calendar) and mail in their form with a note that they are waiting for their Cookie Dough.
