[Leaders] Girl Recruitment for 2012-2013

Leaders,

Since we don't have school reps for all the schools yet and all of the elementary schools have open houses the same night, we aren't going to attempt recruitment at open houses.  If you want to run a table at your school, please let me know ASAP.  I got flyers from council today and I have a few registration forms you can use. 

INSTEAD, I would like to run a Rockford GS Expo evening.  My plan is to get a leader and maybe a girl or 2 from each level (Daisy thru Sr/Amb) to set up a table and do an activity for that age group.  We'll have people there to answer parent questions and do registrations.   This will be probably the last week of Sept, so I have time to get volunteers and get it publicized thru Family Access.

If you have location ideas, or are willing to help please let me know.  I will talk about it at our Sept leader mtg, but wanted to give you a heads up since GS won't be at the Open Houses.

[Leaders] Fall product mgr

Ladies & gentleman,
We still need someone to step forward to run Fall Product. It is a short sale and not all troops participate. It is a great way to serve the Service Unit. For anyone who may need financial support from council this year, selling both fall product and cookies is a requirement.

Leaders,

I need someone who is willing to run the Fall Product sale for the Service Unit.  This does not have to be a leader.  If you have a parent who you think would be interested, please ask them.

Training times for the manager are: Weds Sept 5 at Grand Rapids service center from 10-noon or 6-8PM

                                               or   Tues Sept 4 at the Muskegon Service Center 10-noon or 6-8PM

Please let me know ASAP if you are interested.   Council needs to know this week.

[Leaders] GS End of Last Year missing paperwork

Rockford Leaders,

We have a BIG problem.  The following are the troops that council shows DID NOT turn in their end of year financial paperwork.  This is a requirement with Girl Scouts.  I've attached the forms that need to be filed (also attach a copy of your last bank statement).  You can take them to council yourself (I suggest making a copy first), or drop them in a box on my porch and I'll digitally scan them before taking them to council.  Please do this ASAP, it will be more fun to start a new year once the old one is finalized.  If you need help, please let me know.

If you turned yours in on time- THANK YOU and see you in Sept.  All leader meetings are at RUMC, 2nd Monday of each month 7-8PM.  September will have "mingle time" at 6:30 with cookies and pop.

[Leaders] Leaders-older girls (now 5th grade and up) meeting next Tuesday- update

Hi all,

 I have had input from a few of you and agree with your ideas.  Let's open the meeting up to leaders with girls 5th grade and up as your girls are getting quickly to the age where they drop scouting.  Let's keep their interest!  Also, if your daughters want to attend with you have them come along and we'll put them together to get ideas of things they would like to do.  I really want to do more 'older girl' events/outings this year and want to know what they want to do.
