Hello Service Unit Directors,

 

Please remind your volunteers and Girl Scouts of the opportunity to receive the national President's Volunteer Service Award by returning the attached form to a service center by December 15.  Learn more about this award at http://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/.  Our form tracks volunteer hours by membership year.  The award includes a pin and certificate for a $5 fee.

Leaders,
Here are the dance details:
ERMS 6:30-8:30 Jan 18.
All ages. $5 reg per girl (checks to Rockford Service Unit) plus food donation to NKSC. Max 200 girls.
Masquerade Dance-make your masks ahead of time and dress up if you wish.

Reg forms due by Dec 10th or until the dance is full, whichever comes first. The reg form is in the parent section of our website (no login required). Drop at Alicia Stuckey's (treasurer) house 345 Sigsbee St in Rockford.

Hello Everyone,

 

Here is the November Update for the Program Department and a link for the new Girl Scout Challenge. Please make copies and give to your service unit teams and leaders or email if easier. This communication will come out by the 5 th of each month. These will be available at service centers, through membership staff, pathway staff and through our registrars. To register for programs please contact Debbie Bennett ( dbennett@gsmists.org) or register through e-biz (existing Girl Scouts)  We currently are working with Marketing to make sure the information is updated to the calendar and some of the new updates are being put in Personify this week. I hope this communication is helpful in getting programming information out to our service unit teams. Have a great day!

 

This November Update has:

 

Added new programming

Gold, Silver and Teen Awards date/location

GS important dates

A few events that GS troops participate in (GS FYI)

A few 2013-2014 events included also

 

We have also hired a new Outdoor Program Manager named Erin Adcock and she will be starting in two weeks. With her on board, we will be working to add more outdoor programming/STEM for the winter, spring and summer along with looking to next year. We are very excited to have her an look forward to adding her to our team.

I was notified last night that the the due date for the boxes is tomorrow. If you have boxes ready you can drop them to Nedra or Crossroads church tomorrow. I don't know if Nedra will be at our leader mtg, so if you have boxes please take them to Crossroads or make contact with her tomorrow.

[Leaders] Monday meeting

Reminder that if you are going to participate in the Santa parade you need to attend the meeting held by the Chamber at the church at 6:00. 

 

Also I will not be able to attend Monday’s meeting.  Would someone please volunteer to take notes?  Please advise.

Re: [Leaders] Question about Registering NEW girls

I encountered the same registration difficulties, and I expect others will too. 

Renewals--if the individual girl was registered last year and the parent has access to the email address that was on the registration form, and knows the exact name that was used, then the parent can create an online account in ebiz and renew for this year (and probably switch troops, though I haven't tried that for girls).  For this, start at http://gsmists.org/ and click the register link at the top, to get to ebiz.

New registrations--I had been told that a paper registration form is needed for all new registrations.  That may eventually change, but based on your experiences, it sounds like it hasn't yet.  Some folks have started at http://gsmists.org/ and clicked forms, and picked the Girl Membership Form.  It looks different than the old membership forms, and it doesn't really have a good place to put the troop number, so others have dug out last year's forms.  If there's a better way, hopefully someone will let us know!

At the September leader meeting, online renewal for the whole troop had been discussed.  From what I've been told, that option is only available each year until September 30th at midnight, so it's a possibility for next year.

I am going under troop management and it allows me to add a girl but not register them.  Is there another way to do this?  and one of the girls I am trying to register say she is already in the system but not in my troop because I cannot find her.

 

Any help of suggestions are appreciated.
