Do you want to start a troop. This is what needs to be done to get a troop number:
All adults with 01 and 02 must take the GS101 course, approved as a troop (interviewed) and adults need to register.
Eastern Floral will donate 5% to GSMISTS for flowers so mention GSMISTS when you order.
At this time no one needs silver or gold training. As the need arises please advise. We can provide training at the neighborhood level.
Anyone a level 2 first aider (nurse, etc). If so please let us know if you are willing to help out at our events with over 200 girls.
Holiday parade patches are in. We had about 250 girls participate. Way to go!
Holiday caroling went very well. 3 groups went out caroling for 45 minutes. We plan to repeat the event.
Masquerade Dance – bring an item for North Kent Service Center – socks, underwear, peanut butter, spag sauce, cereal are just a few ideas.
Knitting event. Please let Jane know if your girls are interested ASAP. Need to bring your own needles.
Cookies will be delivered on March 22nd. If you can help sort please volunteer. Delivery will occur around 9:00. Pickup will start in the afternoon and we need to be out of the Plainfield fire station by 6:00pm. Many hands make light work.
Thinking Day Sat. February 23rd. Daisies and Brownies register now! Juniors –interested in representing a country. Please contact Sue Kerbyson. Please use our neighborhood registration form.
YMCA overnight is Friday, February 8 from 7:15 – 6:45am Saturday morning. Any questions please contact Lynn Surdock lsurdock@wpf-engineering.com. $23 per girl $3 per adult. See list of what to bring. Please use our neighborhood registration form.
April 20th – Cake Wars – Limited to 40 girls. Me and my guy event at Assumption activity center. This is located across from the school, back side of the church, lower level. $8.00. Please use our neighborhood registration form.
April 27th – Civic Theatre – Anne of Green Gables matinee at 2:00pm Saturday. We have 60 tickets reserved. $12 per person. Use neighborhood registration form.
May 4-5 – Neighborhood Campout – Pine Ridge Bible Camp. Afternoon event for the Daisy scouts and overnight for Brownies and up. Registration form will be sent out by the end of January. Still working out costs.
Leader/daughter event – date to be determined in May. Circus folks coming out. Watch for details. We did this several years ago and it was great fun for the girls and their moms.
Day Camp – It will be the week of June 24-27th. Please note it is in June and not July this year. Will be at Camp Rockford. We need folks to volunteer to run the various grade units. If you volunteer your daughter gets a slot. There are many opportunities to volunteer. Please consider sharing your time and talents. Any questions please contact Beverly Dickinson. Register will be through council and our service unit will be given a heads up on the registration. Girls completing 6th grade are encouraged to take Day Camp Aid training and come on out an volunteer.
