Sale on GS patches

Hey leaders,

I just got an email from Snappy Logos and they have a bunch of discontinued patches on sale. The discontinued patches are only $.49 each! Admittedly, most of them have the year (like, Luau 2007), but some of them don't and could be used anytime!

They also have a bunch on sale (their sales last only one week and the next week something else is on sale) for $.59.

So if you've been busy or still have some summer plans, check out their site and see if they have anything that can help you.

Summer Newsletter

Yesterday we wrapped up Day Camp.  Special thanks goes to Tina Schmutz who was our camp director this year.  She did a fabulous job.  Thanks go to all of the adult volunteers and day camp aides who made it all possible.  Thanks for a great week.  Visit our blog to post your comments.

Today is the Council Rummage sale from 12-6.  They are getting rid of lots of resource room stuff and camping equipment. Check it out!

Girl Scout Tragedy

Leaders,

We received word that one of Laura Olender's Girl Scouts from Chandler Woods was killed in a car accident on Thursday. Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.

The Bazen family was on their way down to the Carolinas Thursday
afternoon and was involved in a fatal collision with a van. Mrs. Bazen
and her 7 year old daughter Nicole were killed. Richard
Bazen who is 13 who was originally thought to be in critical condition was listed in fair condition in an Ohio hospital and may have been already released.

Our Rockford Neighborhood will be offering the following age level trainings for leaders. 

 

            Brownie age level training – August 4, 2008 – 6:00-9:00pm – Beth Reedy’s home                Registration Deadline:  July 28

 

            Junior age level training – August 7, 2008 – 6:00-9:00pm – Beth Reedy’s home                   Registration Deadline:  July 31

 

            Cadette/Senior age level training – August 18, 2008 – 6:00-9:00pm – Beth Reedy’s home    Registration Deadline:  August 11

 

 

Please register by sending your name, phone and email address to Beth.  Trainings may be cancelled if there is not enough interest!

Pool party and hike

Summer is here and it is time to be looking at fun events with your girls! Girls do NOT have to sign up as a troop, so please forward this to your parents!

Swimming Pool Party! Tuesday, July 22 from 7 - 9 pm at Cannon Pool. Cost is only $2.50 (to cover pool rental, snacks, & a patch) if you are a member & $4.50 if you're not a member. Great opportunity for your troop to get together or meet some friends from other troops. Lifeguard will be there. Work on a swimming badge!

Bike and/or Hike the White Pine trail! Tuesday, August 19 from 6 - 8 pm. Cost is only $2 to cover snack & patch. Start at either end (in Belmont or by 12 mile) and hike/bike into downtown Rockford & meet at Sowersby Park pavilion.
