Hello,
Below is some information on the Bridging Ceremony this Thursday at Rockford Freshman Center.
Several leaders have asked me how their girls should dress. I told my troop in the past to dress nicely and be sure to wear their vest or sash. I know that's general, but hopefully it helps some.
Leaders should arrive between 6:00 and 6:15.
Scouts should arrive no later than 6:15
Scouts will be grouped together with their troop and leader. Parents/family/ special others will be asked to wait outside the auditorium. This will enable the Troop leader to gather and focus the scouts together.
There will be a flag ceremony. Please let me know if you have scout who wishes to assist. This will not guarantee a role; but first come first serve.
The bridging ceremony will be done by level and then Troop number. Leaders will be asked to announce their girls as they walk across the stage.
We will be giving the girls a Bridging Certificate. PLEASE do not give your scout flowers/gifts etc for this event as other Troops can not afford this and it obviously causes heartfelt issues. If your Troop decides to bridge with a sash/vest/patch to the next level, that is fine. Remember, keep it simple.
Following the Award acknowledgment, the flags will be dismissed.
Finally, there will be opportunities for pictures, following the ceremony. There will be cake and juice. I am asking that the Scouts be served first; before others.
Also, some troops have girls that will not be able to attend. If you know you have girls that can't attend, please let me know their names, IF you would like a certificate for them. I can also add them in the program if you'd like. However, I need their information by Tuesday, 7:30pm.
I do need assistance with:
Various levels of scouts for the flag ceremony
If there are any Scouts who are not bridging BUT wish to assist; please let me know.
Thank you,
Andrea Desenclos
